The rapid growth of empirical research in the social sciences has led to an increasing need for high‑quality questionnaires that can reliably and validly measure complex constructs such as attitudes, skills, and experiences. Thoughtfully designed instruments are essential not only for generating trustworthy findings, but also for informing evidence‑based practice and policy. This training offers a practical, hands‑on introduction to the full process of developing and evaluating questionnaires, from transforming abstract constructs into items to assessing the psychometric quality of your instrument using accessible software.
The training is intended for anyone who wish to design their own questionnaires or critically assess the quality of instruments they plan to use in their studies. During the session, participants will work with a pre‑existing dataset to practice each step of the process and immediately apply what they learn. We will use the free statistical software JASP, which offers an intuitive interface for running common analyses used in questionnaire validation. Through a combination of short inputs, guided demonstrations, and individual or small‑group exercises, participants will leave with a concrete workflow they can adapt to their own projects.
By the end of the training, participants will be able to:
The training is interactive and oriented toward developing practical skills that you can immediately transfer to your own research. Duration of the training is 4 academic hours and the working language is English.
Participants must have installed the JASP software on their laptops before the training.
Date and time: April 21, 9 a. m. – 12:30 p. m.
Place: Zoom platform (link will be sent before the training).
Registration for the training “Designing and Validating Questionnaires”
All participants will get the certificate. The training is free of charge.
