Training “Basics of Citizen Science” took place on 12 January 2023
KTU FSSAH Data Analysis and Archiving (DAtA) Centre carried out 4 academic hours of methodological training “Basics of Citizen Science” on 12 January 2023, which was conducted by Kaunas University of Technology scientist Dr. Eglė Butkevičienė.
The aim of the course was to provide to the general public a basic knowledge of citizen science and to develop the capacity of society to engage in research in practice. The course develops practical skills to make appropriate choices about the types of citizen engagement, to understand the different models of citizen science and the opportunities for participation. The course also develops skills to understand research ethics and data protection requirements.
The training was carried out within the project “Supporting Sustainable Institutional Changes to Promote Citizen Science in Science and Technology (TIME4CS)” (project leader at the KTU Dr. Eglė Butkevičienė), which is financed by the European Union Structural Funds.
