The use of the MAXQDA AI Assistant (MAXQDA AI Assist) can significantly enhance researchers’ work when using MAXQDA software in the qualitative data analysis process. This AI-powered assistant employs advanced artificial intelligence technology—a GPT-3.5 large language model—to provide researchers with functions such as generating summaries of coded and uncoded data, recommending new codes and subcodes, explaining unfamiliar terms, and more.
Although the AI Assistant does not replace the researcher in conducting qualitative research, it serves as a valuable tool that complements the analysis process by offering efficient and innovative solutions. By understanding the capabilities and application principles of the MAXQDA AI Assistant, researchers can optimize their analytical workflow and gain deeper insights from their data within the MAXQDA environment.
