October 7th-8th 2020 training “Applied topic modelling”

Description

Methodological training “Applied topic modelling“

Level: Introductory

Training will be delivered by dr. Florian Rabitz (Kaunas University of Technology).

This training session offers a practical introduction to topic modelling. We will be discussing the general rationale of topic models as a way of uncovering hidden semantic structures behind (potentially very large) amounts of text; discuss different applications; and go through the various steps in the topic modelling workflow. We will be focusing on Correlated Topic Models and Structural Topic Models, primarily using the stm package for R. Basic knowledge of R is an asset. You may bring your own computer although this is not strictly required.

Due to the COVID-19 epidemic, methodological training will take place online:
October 7 (Wednesday) 10:00 – 13:30
