Seminar \u201cStrengthening Lithuania\u2019s Potential in the Humanities and Social Sciences through LiDA and CESSDA-ERIC\u201d was held on November 14, 2024 at the Faculty of Social Sciences, Arts and Humanities, Kaunas University of Technology.

During the seminar, presentations were made by Bonnie Wolff-Boenisch, Director of CESSDA ERIC; Giedrius Vili\u016bnas, advisor of the Office of the Committee for the Future of the Office of the Seimas of the Republic of Lithuania; Au\u0161ra Gribauskien\u0117, Chief Specialist of the Division of Science of the Ministry of Education, Science and Sports; Head of KTU DAtA Center, Audron\u0117 Tele\u0161ien\u0117; LiDA coordinator Vaidas Morkevi\u010dius and KTU Information Technology Department specialists Antanas \u0160treimikis and Andrius Bla\u017einskas.<\/p>\n

During this live event, speakers discussed topics related to Lithuanian and European research infrastructures, the importance of providing open access to data and other research outputs, FAIR data principles and data archiving technologies. The seminar provided an opportunity to learn about modern data curation practices and the innovations required for opening data.<\/p>\n

The event culminated with the official introduction of the National Advisory Board of LiDA formed for a five-year term (2024-2029). The Board has 24 members representing Lithuanian science and education institutions, public agencies and other organizations. The Board is an advisory body of LiDA that provides consultations for the head of the DAtA center and the LiDA coordinator to implement the goals and objectives of LiDA.<\/p>\n
